DJ PROFILE: DJ Fletcher De Originator
Introduction
I'm Tsormana Julius, known professionally as DJ Fletcher De Originator, from Kedzi-Havedzi, Keta District, Volta Region. I'm also a Graphic Designer.
Background and Experience
Music and DJing have been my passion since basic school. I'd dance and play to every sound I heard. I'd attend programs to watch and learn from DJs. My dad owned a sound system, but I wasn't allowed to operate it. However, one day, I got the chance, and that's when my DJing journey began.
DJ Style and Influences
My DJ style is versatile. My biggest influences in Ghana are DJ Ricky Augustine, DJ Lord OTB, Dj Sonatty, DJ Sedem, and DJ Wastykay. Internationally, I look up to DJ Puffy, DJ Kaywise, and DJ Chichi.
Creative Process
I create my mixtapes at home with my laptop and sometimes during live performances. I draw inspiration from other DJs, mixtapes, and big shows on YouTube and Facebook.
Challenges and Criticism
My biggest challenge is buying equipment. I handle criticism and negative comments by trusting in God and focusing on my passion.
Performance Experience
My fans' energy and feedback motivate me during live performances. I prepare for shows by creating playlists to keep the crowd engaged.
Upcoming Projects and Shows
I'm planning to release "Dancehall Invasion Mix Vol.2" and a Drill Hip-Hop Mixtape. I have an upcoming show on March 1st at Cereno Homes Resort in Keta.
Future Goals
In the next 5-10 years, I aim to become the best DJ in Ghana and beyond.
Hobbies and Interests
Aside from music, I enjoy Graphic Designing, singing, and dancing.
